The Amazing René has been performing family oriented magic shows for over 25 years at such large venues as Canada’s Wonderland, Science North and Santa’s Village. The Amazing René’s performance will astound and delight you with his unique blend of magic, humour, movement and showmanship. Pure Country Mechanical Bull

On Friday September 6th, Country Night will feature the PURE COUNTRY Mechanical Bull from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. You can ride the Mechanical Bull for $5.00/ride or 3 rides for $10.00 with all proceeds going to NEO Kids. NEO Kids Foundation is dedicated to building awareness for children’scare needs and raising funds for services, equipment, and research tohelpthe youngest and most vulnerable patients.

Wagon Wheel Ranch Horse Rides & Petting Zoo

Your child will be equipped with an equestrian helmet and will be assisted on a Pony at Valley East Days! Staff will walk the pony rider while leading pony (parents are welcome to walk beside pony during the ride). After your ride, check out the petting zoo filled with Llamas, goats, sheep, a miniature pony, a donkey, potbelly pigs, rabbits, and assorted birds & ducks! Wagon Wheel Ranch will be at Valley East Days on Sunday, September 8th starting at 12:00am until 4:00pm.

The stars of Northland Wrestling come to Sudbury for the first time at Valley Days September 7th and 8th starting at 1:00pm each day! The King of the North Champion Lionel Knight will be on hand to defend his championship. Also scheduled to appear will be the high-flying Dustin Quicksilver, the Tank from Tel Aviv, Tomer Shalom and Impact Wrestling’s Gursinder Singh and many more. Don’t miss out. Valley East Days is gearing up for its Annual Classic Car Show set to take place on Sunday, September 9th from 11:00am to 5:00pm at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre. This event will include over $2,000 in prizes! Interested parties are encouraged to bring out their classic cars for a fun-filled day!

City of Greater Sudbury Emergency Services Display

The police, fire, and ambulance departments will all be on display at Valley East Days at the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 7th. They will have an impressive assembly of fire trucks, special emergency response vehicles, police cars and motorcycles, an ambulance and the EMS mobile control unit from 10:00am until 5:00pm. The display will be held in the space at the back of the mall where the classic car show will be located on Sunday, so there will be plenty of space to roam around and examine the vehicles and talk to the emergency service personnel. Visitors will also be able to find out information about joining the Auxiliary Unit of the GSPS and also find out how they can become a volunteer firefighter.

Valley East Mixed Softball Playoffs

Come and cheer on your favourite softball team as they compete to determine the years top team! The playoffs start Friday, September 6th at 6:00pm and continue on Saturday, September 7th at 8:00am concluding on Sunday, September 8th at 9:00am.

Ballroom Dance Presentation

Ballroom and Latin dancing have become so popular in Sudbury, it’s keeping instructor Jan Fregonese on her toes. Fregonese, a grandmother of six, teaches dancing day and night. Her schedule includes ballroom and Latin dancing classes at Cambrian College and line dancing classes for seniors at Lockerby Legion and St. Andrew’s Place. She estimates she dances about five hours every day. And when she’s not dancing, she keeps busy with a part-time job as an interior designer at Paul’s Quality Woodcraft Ltd. Yet, she can’t remember being sick for at least 30 years and credits her good health to dancing. Don’t miss her Ball Dance Presentation at Valley East Days on Sunday, September 8th at 11:00am!

Let’s Talk Science professional learning sessions use a skills-based approach to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and digital literacy that focuses on the development of student competencies through inquiry and problem solving. Crosh Mobile Lab Laurentian University

Centre for Research in Occupational Safety & Health Mobile Lab (M-CROSH) is the first mobile lab in Canada equipped to simultaneously perform workplace research in Occupational Health and Wellness, Human Factors and Ergonomics, and Occupational Physiology and Environment. M-CROSH connects researchers and workers in rural and remote communities, and promote understanding of critical occupational health and safety problems through active information exchange. Come find out what CROSH is all about at 11:00am on Saturday, September 7th in the festival grounds.

Stillwell Country Classics & Tribute to Johnny Cash

Stillwell is based out of the Sudbury area, and is composed of Don Kingsley, Stephan Bernard, Fab Fournier & Marc Serre. Since 2004, Stillwell have had a great time playing their favourite songs for all that have come out to hear them perform at countless shows.

Little Ray's Reptiles

One of our most popular and interactive show! This is a 1-hour presentation with 2 presenters. This show offers a variety of larger animals with 8-10 animals including a large lizard, a turtle/tortoise, an arachnid (scorpion or tarantula), a crocodilian, giant snake (12+ft), etc.

Acoustacharo

Acoustacharo was formed after many late night/early mornings in a garage. Starting off as an acoustic trio, Acoustacharo became a full band when Fab Fournier and Stephan Bernard answered the call to complete their sound with vocals, drums and bass guitar. With Steve Cuch and Allison MacDonald on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Scott Cameron lends his versatility of lead guitar/mandolin/banjo and vocal harmonies to the casserole style set list. Easily put, their sound is that of your favorite mix tapes between classic rock, folk rock, pop country and anything in between.

Roadhouse

Roadhouse is one of the top cover bands north of Barrie and are always in high demand because of the wide variety of music they play and energy they infuse into every show. The group was established in early 2014 and has evolved into a powerhouse vocal group with strong harmonies and exceptional musicians. Their song selection packs dance floors and ranges from country (old to new; Johnny Cash, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Chris Stapleton, Gretchen Wilson, Little Big Town ..as well as 60s, 70s & 80s rock and pop(Dion and the Belmont’s, Janis Joplin, Journey, Boston, Bruno Mars, B-52’s, Abba to name a few.

Northbound

Sudbury's newest Country Rock band Northbound, has really been picking up speed over the last few months. Though relatively new, this 5 piece band is no stranger to the music industry. Their lead male vocalist/guitarist Serge Sauvé, is the owner of Powersurge Productions. Having the ability to see a wide range of local talent, Serge knew exactly who to ask once he decided it was time to form his own band. Darryl Gilchrist (lead guitar) was his first recruit. Justin Pelletier (drums) and Don Kingsley (bass) were the next to join the group. Cindy Lee Thornton was the last to join North Bound. Together, North Bound has the ability to slow things down for an acoustic set allowing their vocal harmonies to take center stage or they can turn up the volume and engage the crowd with their energy and charisma.

Every good thing must come to an end! So as a great finale to an amazing Valley East Days weekend, bring your family and friends out to watch the Valley East Fireworks display on Sunday, September 8th at dusk at the Howard Armstrong Recreation Centre soccer field!
